Richard O’Brien’s “The Rocky Horror Show” returns to the Aloha Theatre in October.
Satirizing the genre of low-budget science fiction and horror movies, the zany show presented by Aloha Performing Arts Company tells the story of a young couple who find themselves stranded on a dark and stormy night. Their decision to ring the doorbell of a foreboding castle results in a night filled with wild science experiments, manic gender-bending, violent murder, and casual sex. Parental discretion is advised.
Miguel Montez, a regular on the Aloha Theatre stage, makes his APAC directorial debut with this cult-favorite. Kaz Maruta and Kathryn Mayer star as the young lovers, Brad and Janet, respectively. Their interactions with Riff-Raff (Miles Lugo), Magenta (Chamika Fujioka), and Columbia (Kat Rose Sullivan) prove to be increasingly frightening until they come face-to-face with Dr. Frank-N-Furter, portrayed by Annie Herring. Barry Levine reprises his portrayal of the title role of Rocky for the fourth time. Rounding out the principal characters are John Cottle as Eddie, David Fero as Dr. Scott, and John Victor Ribeiro as the Narrator.
The Phantoms, which make up the chorus of “The Rocky Horror Show” include Lulie Cottle, Rachel Edwards, Nicole Gour, Nicholas Lachelier, Gerald Lucena, Kaitlin Moore and Kara Owens. The live, onstage rock band features Bobby Howard on lead guitar, Jason Stith and Bernaldo Evangelista on bass guitar, Dale Ross on electric keyboard, and Sharon “Boom-Boom” Cannon on drums. The production team also includes: producer, sound designer and operator Peter Schonberg; assistant directors Shaiya Rahman and Laura Alms; choreographer Kat Rose Sullivan; vocal director Megan Hodge; band director Sharon “Boom-Boom Cannon”; set designer Gerald Lucena; master builder Victor Lugo; lighting designer and operator boB Gage; prop master David Fero; costumes Carol Conner, Lulie Cottle and Kaitlin Moore; hair and makeup Kara Owens; house managers Cameron Bailey and Normetta Muir; and box office manager Sharyn Toyama.

Tickets are $22 for adults, $20 for seniors and young adults, and $25 for everyone on Halloween.
